I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, climbing trees and cartwheeling down sidewalks. Now I’m a collaborative facilitator + artist working towards collective care of people and places.
I channeled my love of nature into two science degrees at UC Berkeley: Forestry and Conservation. My passion for community engagement led me to graduate-level landscape architecture coursework in participatory design, where I facilitated focus groups and community charrettes across California.
After graduation I landed in and worked for the city of Salt Lake City, Utah. I fell in love with the American West and grew fascinated by rising debates about who should manage our public lands. This discourse inspired my graduate studies at the Yale School of Environment, where I spent two summers immersed in wild and working landscapes in Wyoming and Ireland.
In 2016, I moved to Colorado to work for non-profits advocating for our climate, public lands, and environmental justice. I began collaboration consulting in 2021.
Now I live in Southwest Denver. I spend my free time swimming, gardening with my dog, planting trees with the Park People, and serving as board chair for Ekar Farm.
Hi, I’m Sara Rose (they/she).
